The Weekend Football Preview

Weekend 20 th/21 th/22 nd March

The Premiership

League leaders Manchester United host Liverpool on Sunday lunchtime in a match that could define the campaign for both sides. Victory for United and revenge for last seasons 4-1 defeat will keep them top of the Premier League and provide a massive boost for Ferguson’s men in the title race. Victory for Rafa Benitez would provide a huge lift for the Anfield club as they chase 4 th spot and Champions League Football.

Stevie B’s Champions League 2nd Round 2nd Leg Preview

Midweek 16 th/17 th March
Chelsea v Inter Milan

Following something of a sticky patch for John Terry, Carlo Ancelotti and Chelsea in general there have been positive signs in the past two victories over Stoke City and West Ham that the Londoners are edging back towards the form they illustrated earlier in the campaign. Didier Drogba continues to find the net but it is Florent Malouda’s form which may please Ancelotti most as there is little doubt some of his recent performances (such as in the 4-1 win against the Hammers) have been the best Chelsea fans will have seen of him since his arrival from Ligue 1.

All Weather Horse Racing Preview for Wolverhampton's Lincoln Trial Day

This week seems to have flown by and to be honest the All-Weather racing has been lacking slightly this week whether it’s all this Cheltenham hype or just that were getting itchy feet over the turf season starting in 2 weeks times.

The Weekend Football Preview

Weekend 13th/14th/15th March

Last weekend I felt I was a tad unreasonable by only previewing the Premiership fixtures. I certainly wouldn’t want to be seen as elitist! Thus this week I have briefly covered all four English divisions and the SPL and have altered the preview to try to focus more on tips and advice.

Last week's Racing review and preview for this week

Well my first article for TheBookiesOffers.co.uk, I have been asked to write a review of the past weeks action/eye catchers on the flat and also preview the week ahead and try and point you in the right direction for some winners.

Pegasus Again was been a consistent sort on the all weather and ran a solid race on Sunday in the 4.55 at Kempton interestingly most of his races have come with a fair gap between runs, where as this run came after 5 days after a good looking win last time out. This run is therefore probably worth forgetting about and is one to look out for again in the coming weeks especially if it looks like he could get an uncontested lead.

Stevie B's Premiership Preview

Weekend 6th/7th/8th March
Arsenal v Burnley

Two seasons ago a serious injury to one of Arsene Wenger’s young stars on at a hostile away ground (Eduardo at St.Andrews) saw the Gunners title challenge evaporate away. However despite losing Aaron Ramsey for the campaign Arsenal closed the gap on Chelsea to 3 points in a fascinating title race. By contrast Burnley remain second bottom and lost to crisis club Portsmouth.

Stevie B’s England v Egypt Preview

Egypt arrive at Wembley having retained their African Cup of Nations crown with a narrow victory over Ghana in Angola. Egypt have not qualified for the World Cup since 1990 despite consistently impressing in the Cup of Nations with victories in 2006, 2008 and now 2010. Fabio Capello clearly views this tie as ideal preparation for the World Cup group stage tie against Algeria although in my opinion Hassan Shehata’s side are tougher opponent than the side Capello’s men will encounter.

Stevie B’s Carling Cup Final Preview

Today Sir Alex Ferguson faces ones of the many managers touted as his potential successor in what is the first major cup final of this campaign. Martin O’Neill’s men have not been defeated by Ferguson’s this campaign and like last season Carling Cup Final against Tottenham it is not unfeasible to see this one going beyond the 90 minute mark.
