Brighton v Chelsea Betting Tips – 20th January 2018
Chelsea fans were a frustrated bunch this weekend. The Blues went into their Premier League match against Leicester on the back of two 0-0 draws in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup respectively but were unable to find the back of the net once again, despite the Foxes being reduced to 10 men.
Alvaro Morata is getting much of the blame for Chelsea’s poor recent form in front of goal. The Spanish striker is clearly low on confidence for whatever reason but to lay the blame solely at his door seems harsh.
Chelsea were second best all over the pitch against Leicester which will give Brighton hope of getting something out of their match with the defending Premier League champions at the Amex Stadium.

Chelsea to Get the Job Done Against the Struggling Seagulls
Chris Hughton has rightly been highly praised for the work he’s done as Brighton manager. He took a team that was struggling at the foot of the Championship into the Premier League for the first time in their history and has every chance of keeping them in the top flight.
That said, things are rather less rosy at Brighton now than they were just a few months ago.
The Seagulls have won only one of their last 12 league games and find themselves just three points clear of the relegation zone.
Of most concern to Hughton is that the defensive organisation for which he prides himself seems to have evaporated. Brighton have conceded far too many sloppy goals since being hammered 5-1 by Liverpool at the start of December and could, therefore, be the perfect opponents for Chelsea.
The Blues need a big win to keep the pressure up on the teams around them inside the Premier League’s top four and should get it on Saturday at 51/100 with Marathonbet.
Bigger Routes to Profit from Chelsea’s Outing by the Sea
Although Chelsea should oblige favourite backers who expect them to bounce back to form against Brighton, betting on the away team at odds on is not everybody’s cup of tea.
So, let’s look for some different options that can return handsomely on a Chelsea win.
The first such option is betting on Chelsea to win by two goals at 10/3 with Betfair. Antonio Conte will demand that his players take the game by the scruff of the neck and they should end up with a fairly comfortable win.
Brighton have a poor record against top half teams, only beating Watford so far. Moreover, they’ve lost five of their games against the top half 2-0 which makes the Chelsea 2-0 correct score worth a shot at 11/2 with William Hill.
Morata Ready to Rediscover His Goalscoring Touch
Although Conte won’t be overly concerned which if his players do the damage against Brighton, he’d very much like Alvaro Morata to get back to somewhere near his best before the Champions League gets underway again.
Chelsea will need all of their best players to perform to have any chance of getting through against Barcelona and that means Morata must start scoring soon.
The Spanish striker enjoyed a fine start to life at Stamford Bridge before his recent drought so everybody knows he has the necessary skills to score in English football.
Brighton know that as well as anybody as Morata’s last goal for the Blues came against the Seagulls on Boxing Day. Morata will fancy his chances against the Brighton defence once again so back him to score anytime at 21/20 with Coral.
