Formula 1 returns in just over two weeks time and it is all set to be a thrilling campaign with lots of drivers confident of taking the championship this year.
Last season was an extremely entertaining one and Sebastien Vettel claimed his third title in as many years after showing his class in the second half of the campaign.
The German is part of the Red Bull team once again this year, along with his teammate Mark Webber, and they look to be extremely strong.
When it comes to betting on the Drivers Championship, it is no surprise that Vettel is the current favourite with the bookmakers as he is at 11/8 with William Hill to make it four titles in a row.
As for Webber, he is out at 22/1 with Bet365 and needs to show a lot more consistency to challenge the front-runners this term.
Fernando Alonso was the man that proved to be the biggest challenger to Vettel last time out as the Spaniard was just three points behind the eventual champion in the end.
Alonso is still driving for Ferrari – who are desperate for a title – and knows he has to get off to a flyer and then perform throughout the season to lift the trophy. Last year, he led the way for the majority of the campaign, but fell off the pace when it really mattered. He is at 3/1 with Boylesports.
Then you have Jenson Button at 11/2 with BetVictor. The Englishman is now the main driver for McLaren following Lewis Hamilton’s switch to Mercedes and he must improve on last year.
Button would not have been pleased with his performances as he finished in sixth position, 93 points behind Vettel, which is not good enough when you consider what a good driver he is.
Bets on his new teammate, Sergio Perez, winning the Drivers Championship give you odds of 14/1 over Stan James.
The bookies are not expecting much from Mercedes this season as Hamilton is out at 16/1 with Coral to win the title. It is tough to know what to expect from the 2008 champion, but if the car is good, he certainly has a chance.
Kimi Raikkonen looks as though he is the only other driver that has a chance of winning this season as he is at 13/1 with Sportingbet.
In terms of a recommended bet for the 2013 Formula 1 season though, we think that backing Hamilton to finish in the top three looks to be good value as it is at 4/1.
One thing is for sure, we are in for a thrilling year in Formula 1 and it all gets underway on from Melbourne in a couple of weeks time.
