India can wrap up an ODI series win against England with victory in the third ODI of the five match series.
India have been out for revenge after they did not win a single game during their recent tour of England. They have looked far more comfortable playing in their own country while England have played well below the standards that they have set themselves in all formats of the game. India are quite rightly odds on at 8/13 with most bookies to win this match.
England have to improve because they cannot be as bad for a third game in a row. Every single part of the England side needs to play better and only then will England be in with a chance of winning a match, forgetting the series for a second. England need to think back to how they managed to beat India in England and use the same skills and tactics. Anyone who fancies an England win can get 11/8 with a few bookies.
Virat Kohli is a player who couldn’t even get into the side when India were getting beaten by England on a weekly basis a couple of months ago. However, he has now sealed his place in the ODI side and his century in the last match shows that he is in fine form and knows the Indian pitches as well as anyone in the side. Kohli is a good bet to top score again for his country at 7/2 with nearly the whole market.
There haven’t been too many England players who look as though they are going to score big runs in this series. The top order is yet to make a partnership of any note and most players are getting starts and then not pushing on from that point. Kevin Pietersen is probably the best bet to top score for England because he’s played more cricket in India than the majority of the England squad. Pietersen has odds of 4/1 with a few bookies.
Praveen Kumar is never going to be the quickest bowler in an India shirt but he is very clever and methodical in the way he bowls. He’ll keep plugging away with the same line and length before switching if he doesn’t get any success. He is due to get a little bit of luck and is priced at 7/2 with Ladbrokes to take the most wickets for India.
No England bowler has really got to grips with bowling at the Indian batsmen in Indian conditions. Jade Dernbach is probably the best bet to take the most wickets because of his extreme pace and brilliant variations. However, anyone could take the most wickets at present. Graeme Swann will have a say if the ball starts to turn and Tim Bresnan will come into the equation if the ball starts to reverse swing. One England bowler needs to take the bull by the horns and bully the Indian batting line up which has so far had it easy.
