The Lanzarote Hurdle is one of the biggest jump races of the coming weekend with a large field of horses that all stand a very good chance of winning the race.
One of the current joint favourites to win the race is a horse called Swincombe Flame at 8/1 in most places on the betting market. This horse has a very good recent record with some strong performances throughout 2012. The early indications suggest that this horse is also in very good shape and all of the news and press linked to the animal over the last four weeks have all made for positive reading.
Decoy is the other horse rated at 8/1 to win this race. Decoy has a good amount of experience and seems to love jump races because a high career win rate is an edge that this horse has over competitors. Decoy likes to run quickly which means the horse can take the hurdles at greater speed. Few mistakes have been made in the recent history of Decoy which tends to suggest that any slight knocks going over the hurdles don’t have any impact on the way this horse runs.
Act of Kalanisi is the second favourite for the race at odds of 10/1 with a couple of bookies. This is a horse that will run a solid race and will be one of the sure fire each way bets for the contests. This horse has good recent history and is putting together a strong reputation. The only slight worry with this runner is that the best results have come in favourable conditions for the horse and there could be a slight over reliance on having everything in its favour.
Featherbed Lane is another horse which will be a strong each way bet for the race, also rated as a 10/1 shot in a couple of places. Featherbed Lane has been consistent over a long period of time and the biggest plus for this horse is that there are very few mistakes going over the jumps. If this horse gets into a good position at the start of the race then there is a superb chance that the horse will be in the running towards the end of the contest.
Domtaline is the best of a big group of horses currently rated as 12/1 shots with the bookies to win this race. This horse has a lot of potential but relies on a good start. If a good start doesn’t happen for this animal then it can struggle to recover in the face of the strength and power of other horses. The jumping style for Domtaline is a little raw which means the horse could either excel or make a few mistakes over the hurdles.
Kasbadali is a great example of an outsider that could do well in this race. Bet365 offers 16s on this horse winning but the more conservative and sensible punters in the betting world will take the each way bet. This is for the simple reason that this horse has been inconsistent in the past. A big race and a possible win is inside the animal somewhere but the going inside the final couple of furlongs could be tough which makes an each way bet more tempting.
