Malaga v Barcelona Betting Preview

Barcelona head to Malaga this weekend and will be looking to continue their dominance of La Liga this season with another three points. It will not be an easy encounter for them though as Malaga currently sit in the top four, but with the form that Barca are in, it is difficult to see anything other than a win for the league-leaders.

The Catalan club are eleven points clear at the top of the Spanish top flight, which means it is going to take something special to stop them regaining the title. They cannot afford to be at all complacent though as eleven points is a healthy, but far from unassailable lead.

It is no surprise that Barcelona are the big favourites with the bookmakers for this one and you can back them at 4/9 with Bet365 to keep up their fantastic form.

One man who is sure to be key and amongst the goals is Lionel Messi and if given any sort of chance, he is likely to put it away right now.

Messi comes into this one on the back of a fourth straight Ballon d’Or award, so it is safe to say his confidence will be sky high.

As for Malaga, they are hunting for Champions League football this campaign once more and although the bookies don’t expect them to take anything from this one, they do have a chance of causing an upset here as they are on their home soil.

It is a big game for the home side in terms of their league position as well as they could be out of the top four by the time they kick-off.

If you fancy a Malaga win, then a bet on them will give you odds 13/2 with SkyBet. It is not very often a team are such good value when at home, but that just shows you the quality of Barcelona.

Betting on the first goal-scorer in this one is sure to be popular and it is no surprise that Messi is the man most likely to break the deadlock.

You can back the man regarded as the best player in the world at 2/1 with Boylesports to have the first say on this match.

If Malaga are to score first, then Roque Santa Cruz could be their best chance and he is at 10/1 with Bet365.

We think bets should be going on the correct score market for the best value though and fancy Barcelona to win, but make it hard work for themselves.

A 3-2 win for the away side is available at 25/1 with Blue Sqaure.

As Barcelona are in action, this will be 90 minutes that you won’t want to take your eyes off.
