The Wimbledon Championships head into round two on Wednesday and Andy Murray will be looking for another comfortable victory when he takes of Yen-Hsun Lu of China at SW19.
The Scotsman had a fairly straight forward first round match against Benjamin Becker and he took the tie in straight sets, which is just what is needed at this stage of the tournament.
He wants to keep as much in the tank as possible so another straight set victory will be on Murray’s mind here, but after seeing Rafael Nadal crash out of the opening round, he knows there is no time for complacency.
The British number one look impressive in the first round though and he didn’t really need to get out of second gear for much of the match.
It is no surprise to see that there isn’t any value on a Murray win and the best odds you can get on the number two seed are 1/41 over at Betfair.
With the support from his home crowd and the fact that Andy Murray does look to be in such good form, it is going to take something special for him to be knocked out at this stage and in truth, he should win this one comfortably.
As for Yen-Hsun Lu, he has already beaten a Brit at Wimbledon as he knocked James Ward out of the tournament in the first round, but did need four sets to come out on top.
The man from China will find it tough to get anywhere near Murray in this one and he has to hope that the number two seed has an off day.
When looking at the betting you can see that the bookmakers don’t give him much chance and Paddy Power even have odds of 33/1 that the underdog comes out on top in this second round match.
He is clearly playing some decent tennis, but let’s not forget, Lu is going up against one of the best in the world on Wednesday.
For some more value on your bets heading into the correct score market could be the best place to go. That said though, Murray is still odds-on to take the match in straight sets as 888sport have odds of 3/10.
If you think he might drop one set, then William Hill are offering 5/1 on a 3-1 win for the US Open Champion.
We think a bet on the first set score is the best way to get some value from the bookies on this one though and like the look of Murray winning 7-5 in the opener, especially as it is being offered at 12/1 with Coral.
