Jurgen Klopp did what no Premier League manager has been able to all season by masterminding a win over Man City last weekend.

In truth, Klopp had little to do in the way of specific planning for the match. Liverpool employed the sort of high press for which they’ve become well known under the German’s stewardship.

That’s not to take anything away from Liverpool who were excellent on the day. It’s just that their high tempo, high energy game is well suited to coping with Man City’s style of play.

Klopp must make minor alterations to Liverpool’s style in the coming months and years to get the team to a standard where they can challenge Man City for the Premier League title.

When it comes to teams towards the bottom of the table though, Liverpool are doing just fine.

They’ve won eight of 10 unbeaten games against bottom half teams so far this season and are, therefore, the clear favourites to pick up all three points against Swansea in the Monday Night Football game.

Liverpool to End Talk of a Swansea Revival

The ‘new manager bounce’ is one of the truisms of English football. It’s the idea that a new manager will instantly have a galvanising effect on his new team, especially when their predecessor had lost the support of the players.

Swansea fans certainly hoped against hope that the appointment of Carlos Carvalhal would change the team’s fortunes.

Initially it looked good as the former Sheffield Wednesday manager won his first game in charge away to Watford. The Swans have quickly reverted to type though as they lost 2-0 to Tottenham before throwing away a lead against fellow relegation rivals, Newcastle.

It’s going to take something bordering on miraculous to save Swansea from relegation and it might take something similar for them to avoid defeat against Liverpool.

The Swans were brushed aside 5-0 when they visited Anfield on Boxing Day and could be in for a similarly tough afternoon so back Liverpool to win with a -1 goal handicap 17/20 with Coral.

Liverpool’s Defence Offers the Swans a Slight Hope

Even though Liverpool fans were jubilant at the end of their win over Man City, the atmosphere was one of pure nervousness in the closing stages.

Man City, having already scored thanks to some poor goalkeeping from Loris Karius, took advantage of more sloppy Liverpool defending to come very close to securing a point at Anfield.

Swansea are no Man City but then again, Liverpool’s defence is much worse on their travels. They’ve kept just two clean sheets away from home so Swansea’s desperation to pick up points should see them score.

Therefore, make sure to bet on both teams to score at 6/5 with 10Bet. Backing over 3.5 goals at 9/5 with BetVictor is another solid option.

The last way to try and profit from a game in which Liverpool win and both teams score is the 18/1 that Betfred are quoting on the Liverpool 4-1 correct score.

Oxlade-Chamberlain Ready to Cement His Place

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s move from Arsenal to Liverpool didn’t make too much sense at the time. It was hard to see where he’d fit into the team and his first few performances were far from encouraging.

But now, having had time to settle into the team and the area, the move is starting to look like a great piece of business.

Oxlade-Chamberlain told the Sky cameras that Klopp had told him to shoot more which is why he let fly for Liverpool’s opener against Man City. We’ve seen him score eye-catching goals for club and country before so back Oxlade-Chamberlain to score against Swansea at 3/1 with Unibet.
