The Premier League of Darts comes from Aberdeen on Thursday evening and Phil Taylor is once again involved in the pick of the matches as he takes on two-time World Champion, Adrian Lewis.
These two men, both from Stoke-on-Trent, are looking to win the Premier League this campaign, but would have been disappointed with the start they made in Belfast last week.
Taylor could only manage a 6-6 draw against Michael van Gerwen and knows he was lucky to get that as the Dutchman missed five darts to win the matches, whereas Lewis went down 7-3 to Simon Whitlock.
Current World Champion, Taylor, knows he needs to win this one now and if he can produce legs like the final one against van Gerwen consistently, then that is just what he will do.
As ever, many are sure to be betting on the world-number one to come out on top and you can back him at 4/7 with Paddy Power to claim his first two points of the season.
Taylor is of course always a crowd favourite no matter who he plays against and the supporters in Aberdeen will hope that he can put on a master-class here.
As for Lewis, it has been a tough few months for him and he really isn’t in the best form at the moment.
The defeat to Whitlock in the opening round of fixtures would have been a big blow and he now comes into this match against the best player of all-time short of confidence and form.
However, as we know in darts, anything can happen and this might be the chance for Lewis to regain his form and kick-start his Premier League campaign.
The bookmakers do think that Lewis has a big job on his hands to come out on top though as you can back him at 4/1 with Betfred.
If you fancy a bet on a draw, it is available at 9/2 with SkyBet.
For this encounter though, the bookies are sure to be taking plenty of bets on the correct score market and at the moment, a 7-3 win for Taylor looks to be the most likely result at 9/2 with BetVictor.
Then, a 7-4 victory for Lewis is being offered at 14/1 with Boylesports.
In terms of a recommended bet, we think the correct score market is the way to go, but fancy Taylor to run-out as a convincing 7-2 winners, which has odds of 94/11 with Betfair.
