Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea Betting

Chelsea will have the chance to improve their consistency when they travel to White Hart Lane but Spurs will be no pushovers by any means.

Spurs have a very good home record this season and Manchester City are the only side to have left the ground with a big win in the bank. Spurs’ fans are very passionate and loud which rubs off on the players on the pitch. This causes them to push forward whenever they get the chance to and makes Spurs a formidable attacking unit when they play in front of their own crowd. Spurs are slight favourites to win at 13/8 with Stan James.

Chelsea have been the classic case of inconsistency this year. They played superbly to pick up a win over Manchester City but then fell into the same old routines when they play Wigan away from home. The problem for Chelsea seems to be getting up for the matches against the supposedly weaker sides in the division. A siege mentality will be used here and Chelsea are 7/4 in most places on the market to win.

Spurs will attack how they always attack which means getting the ball into the middle of the pitch quickly before sending it out wide. Spurs get at teams in all areas of the pitch because they have some very good players in possession. This allows them to pick pockets of space in the opposition defence which may not be very big at all. Spurs to win the match 2-1 has best odds of 10s with a few bookies.

Chelsea will more than likely drop a little deeper if they are taking a lot of pressure during the game. This will allow them to break with pace in wide areas and it also makes them much more difficult to break down and get through. They shouldn’t leave the Spurs attack with many chances and need to be focused on how they are going to score and take the points at the other end. A 1-0 Chelsea win is 9/1 in a few places.

Emanuel Adebayor is a great bet to score the first goal of the game in this match. The Spurs front man seems to be enjoying his time on loan at the club and he seems to be up for it whenever the side plays a title rival. Adebayor is one of the tallest players at the club which also allows Spurs to hit the ball long because Adebayor is so good at holding play up and bringing others into proceedings. He is 6s to score first with Bet365.

Juan Mata has been one of the only Chelsea players of late to come out of the inconsistent run of form with any credit. He can play all over the pitch but is most effective when he cuts inside and can play central passes which take out a high number of defenders. He is a key asset from all set pieces and is 12s to score first with Ladbrokes and Coral.
